Strength for golf is a term you’ve all heard by now. It’s all over the television during professional tournaments, and golf instructors are now throwing the term around.
What makes strength for golf so important and why should you listen?
Let me briefly explain.
The golf swing is traumatic to the body! I can’t put it any simpler than that. When you are swing an object that is over 3 feet long at over 85 mph, there is a physical cost.
The physical cost is undo stress on the major joints of the body. The lower back is the most common area to get injured, along with the hips, shoulders, knees and even wrists.
If your body is physically weak and restricted (low level of flexibility), you will have a minimal chance at playing good golf and staying injury-free as well.
How many times have you gone to the range or the course, only to come home with your lower back stiff, aching or in pain? What about other body parts? I’ll be you’ve felt your hip joints or maybe even your shoulder joints at some point.
If you saw a slow motion video of the human body swinging a club, you’d be shocked. The body is put in some torqued positions throughout the swing. When the body is weak it breaks down. That’s a fact!
In comes strength for golf!
By working your golf specific muscles, you will not only improve your swing mechanics quickly, but your game will transform. You will feel like a different golfer on the course. Your playing partners will be in awe.
You may think I’m hyping this up, but all the above is true! You will quickly realize this has been the missing link to your golf game improvement all along. And don’t ever think it’s too late to start a program of strength for golf.

What Causes Golf Back Pain?
Why it that golf back pain is such a common complaint in golf and amongst golf players on any course?
Does golf back pain have something to do with the game or do most players bring back pains acquired elsewhere into the game?
While it is true that there are golfers who started having back pains and related problems long before they set foot on the course, there is clear evidence that golf does cause back pain, especially to those who do not exercise and condition their bodies for the game.
One reason is that many of the golf back pains are aggravated by playing the game for long periods.
So why do many golfers continue to suffer in silence and yet simple golf specific exercises can permanently cure a golf back pain for good? The following effective, but simple exercise has helped many golfers gain more endurance to play golf the whole day without experiencing the usual nagging lower back problems that are extremely common on the course.
This golf back pain exercise also does an excellent job in adding endurance and strength to the muscles and usually makes such a tremendous difference in your strength that you have to try it to believe and experience the impact for yourself.
This exercise that cures golf back pain is done by lying flat on the floor on your stomach with your hands at your sides. You then raise your chest and upper body as well as arms and legs as high as you can. You do this so that your stomach supports the weight of your entire body. Hold the position and go for a count of 10. Doing this simple exercise for 2 sets daily will completely eliminate your low back pain for good.
Keeping yourself golf fit by getting involved in a good golf specific exercise program will keep any golfer free from golf back pain.

Increase Golf Flexibility for Greater Power
Flexibility is defined as the available range of motion about a specific joint. The range of motion can be limited by many factors. Some of these factors are nervous system control, muscle constraints, joint constraints, or skin and subcutaneous tissue.
Flexibility is considered by many to be one of the most important factors of a successful golf swing. The logic behind this belief is because it increases the movement distance for force application. Studies have demonstrated that greater amounts of force can be produced when a muscle is pre-stretched before performing the activity demanded of it.
A pre-stretched muscle creates elastic recoil that applies additional force for a more powerful contraction. This procedure is also known as preloading the muscle. By understanding the dynamics of flexibility, it only makes sense that it contributes heavily to a more powerful golf swing.
Golf is a power sport. The golfer must be able to generate near-maximum power a certain number of times during a round of golf. Regardless of a player's talent level, most effective and powerful swings are produced when the force-generating muscles are preloaded first. The force generating muscles are found in the lower body. There must be transfer of this force to the upper body in sequential motion in order to create a powerful and effective golf swing. This can only occur if the muscles in both areas are properly stretched and flexible.
Balance also plays an important role in the flexible movement and correct postural alignment for an effective golf swing. To some degree, flexibility and balance go hand in hand.
The fact is that no matter what your natural talent, age, gender, or current level of play if you condition your body for an increased level of flexibility the chances are very good that your golf swing will consistently improve. Even a few minutes a day of stretching exercises can go a long way to achieving improvement.

Three Golf Tips For Balance During Your Golf Swing
Golf tips for balance. Balance is very essential in executing the right golf swing and in this article I point out three reasons why you may be having difficulties achieving the required balance and I also give three golf tips for balance to correct the situation.
A) Poor setup A good setup as you approach your shot is essential to helping you maintain balance throughout the golf swing. Setup is easily the most critical golf tip on balance and being able to make a good shot. If your setup is good, even if your other technique is wrong the chances of making a good shot become very high. Part of making a good shot of course involves maintaining your balance throughout the swing.
B) Trying to hit the ball with all your strength Here is a rather familiar problem amongst amateur golfers. You want to make your drive as long as possible and therefore you hit the ball with all your strength. Not surprising this action rarely has the desired effect and in many cases it results in loss of balance. The golf tip here to correct the balance problem in this case is that the golf club is specially designed to do most of your work for you and technique and golf fitness will work much better than brute force.
C) Weak flabby and unexercised muscles Your level of golf fitness will have a big say in how well you maintain your balance during and after a golf swing. Golf fitness means that you will have strength and power in your muscles which will give you more confidence and help you maintain your cool and the correct posture all the time. The golf tip on balance here is that strengthened and conditioned muscles will always make a huge difference, not only in your balance but also in your entire game.
These golf tips on balance should help you correct any balance problem you may be having.

Are Those The Right Golf Clubs For You?
What kind of golf clubs are you playing with these days? Are they the golf clubs that you should have chosen? Really? Do you even know? There are many different kinds of golf clubs out there and if you did not check them all out before you made your final decision you have no way of knowing if you choose correctly.
Purchasing golf clubs is one of the most important things, if not the most important thing that you will ever have to do when it comes to playing golf. Your golf game is going to depend on the golf clubs that you choose to play with. Your swing is everything to your game and without the right golf clubs you will not be able to swing the right way.
When choosing the right golf clubs you need to take a good long look at the shaft. The flexibility of the shaft of any golf club is going to tell you a lot about the club. Not everyone is comfortable with the same amount of flexibility and you need to find the golf clubs that you are the most comfortable with. Try out many different flexibility levels to see what suits you the best. The golf stores will let you do this. Even if you plan to buy them for less online you can still visit a golf store to see how the golf clubs feel in your hands. I recommend everyone do this before they commit to any particular golf clubs.
While you are in the golf store get your swing measured. This will also help you to find the best possible golf clubs for your golf game.
Different golf clubs have different lengths and not all lengths suit all golfers. You need to check out the different lengths to see which will suit your body and your game the best. In most cases a standard length is the way to go but short people and tall people will need a different length when it comes to their golf clubs. You do not want to have to bend in order to hit the ball, the length of your golf clubs is another essential aspect to a good golf game.
You will also want to take into consideration your handicap in golf. This too will have a bearing on the golf clubs that you should be choosing the next time you are in the market for new clubs.
Your ability in golf will have a direct bearing on your choice of golf clubs as well. There are golf clubs that are made for those just beginning to play golf and golf clubs made for pros. If you are just starting to play the game and you are not even sure that you are going to like it yet then you do not want to go out and spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on your golf clubs do you? That would be crazy. What if you end up hating it? It is a far better idea to start out in a more affordable price range with your first golf clubs.
A Golf Driver Tip To Remember
Every golfer wants to know the best golf driver tip. I hate to disappoint you but there are many great golf driver tips that could be the key to unlocking monster drives for you. Every month the golf magazines have dozens of tips in them, but none of them get to the root of the problem.
Every golfer wants to know the best golf driver tip. I hate to disappoint you but there are many great golf driver tips that could be the key to unlocking monster drives for you. Every month the golf magazines have dozens of tips in them, but none of them get to the root of the problem.
If I were to get the opportunity to write a golf driver tip for a magazine, I’d say something against the norm. Something teaching instructors wouldn’t want to hear. Do you want to know what it is? It’s not some quick fix, because they never work long-term. The “only” thing that works long-term is working on you.
Your body has a current level of physical ability. I don’t care how many balls you hit at the range; how many lessons you take; and what driver you’re swinging. Hitting the ball further takes an increase in clubhead speed. Period. So hitting more balls or taking more lessons won’t improve this.
The only thing that can improve clubhead speed is strengthening your core rotational strength and flexibility. Your core is the engine to your swing. A weak or inflexible core will not give you the results you are looking for.
The golf swing a turn back and a turn through. Isn’t that about as simple as you can make it? If that’s true, why wouldn’t you improve your body’s ability to rotate quicker and more powerfully? This is the ticket to longer drives!
There are many simple, yet effective core rotational exercises you can do in your home, or even office to greatly improve your clubhead speed and driving distance.
Do you want an easy one you can do right in your chair?
Cross your arms in front of your chest. Sit up tall and erect. With a fixed head position, rotate to the right and left slowly. See how far you can go. Do this without stopping. As you feel a loosening of the core, start to rotate faster and faster. Do this 20 or 30 times when you think about it and I guarantee you’ll feel it.
Since time is such a valuable commodity, you’ve got to get creative. I’ve put together a complete section of my manual that covers simples stretches and exercises you can do right in your chair in your office. You can’t get more convenient than that.
I hope I didn’t disappoint you with this golf driver tip.

Golf Swing Trainer - What Is It?
Golf swing trainer is a term you might think of for a training aid that works on your golf swing. I’ve come up with a new definition for a golf swing trainer. It happens to be what I do for a living.
Golf swing trainer is a term you might think of for a training aid that works on your golf swing. I’ve come up with a new definition for a golf swing trainer. It happens to be what I do for a living.
I won’t take up this whole article talking about myself, but I do want you to think of a golf swing trainer in a different light after reading this.
You see…I’ve watched and read about the millions of golfers who are in search of the “silver bullet”. The “magic pill” that will give them the perfect swing and the game they dream of. Well…it’s not out there! I hate to ruin the party, but there is no such thing.
There is hope!
I have spent the better part of 10 years studying the golf swing. And over 25 years in the field of fitness and exercise physiology. I have combined my two passions into the label of golf swing trainer.
It came to me one day when I was working with one of my personal golf clients. We were talking about his swing faults and I was prescribing golf stretches and exercises to eliminate the swing fault.
After just 4 sessions…his swing fault was gone! Completely! He was thrilled to say the least. He told me he had taken private golf lessons with 4 different golf teaching pros and couldn’t correct his golf swing fault.
When he explained it to me…it was obvious. It was a physical limitation that was not allowing his body to perform the prescribed technique all these teaching pros had told him he needed to do.
I was as thrilled as he was and now here I am. A golf swing trainer implementing golf exercises and stretches to eliminate golf swing faults. It’s the most effective way to permanently eliminate swing faults with minimal or now change in technique. The swing just falls into place when the body can perform at optimal strength and flexibility levels.
You heard it here first. Now I am quite confident you will hear more professionals in my field of expertise use it.
A golf swing trainer should have superior knowledge of the golf swing from a mechanical standpoint and physical standpoint. If one or the other is missing, then this individual isn't a qualified professional that should be working on your golf swing.
So next time you hear this phrase…think of improving your body…not taking more lessons, buying the latest, greatest gimmicky training aid, or hitting more balls.
Golf Swing Trainer!
Are You Still Thinking about Your Last Shot?
Will the last shot you played determine where the golf ball goes this time?
You might be surprised to realize that for many people the shot they have just played will have a major impact on their next shot.
The golf player who can switch his mind off that last shot, and move on, will always have a decided advantage over the competition.
If you are one of the many golfers who let their previous performance affect the rest of their game, then retraining your mind will do more for your game than all the tuition that any golf pro can give you.
How many times have we seen Tiger Woods play winning shots from out of the rough?
How many times have we seen him come from behind to win major tournaments?
There is one thing that other players will never do, and that is to write Tiger off if he has not been having a good game. This is because they know he has the mind power to put everything behind him.
In doing so, all the subsequent strokes are focused on winning the tournament.
Even the best golfers in the world duff their shots on occasions, but the way they handle those situations is a major reason why they are at the top of their game.
They don't let mistakes have any impact on the rest of their game, as they know that if they do, they will have no chance of recovery.
Your mind and the thoughts that you allow it to have, are the most powerful influences on the performance of your game.
It impacts on so many areas of play that it is often the downfall of so many golfers who could be better than their handicap suggests.
Consider the additional tension in your body when you are thinking about the last shot and how the next one needs to be so much better to compensate for your error.
That tension is translated into your swing and the possibility of a great shot is diminished accordingly.

Rules for Golf Carts in Florida
The definition of golf cart is that "A Motor vehicle that is
designed and manufactured for operation on a golf course for sporting or
recreational purposes".
In the Florida statutes section 316.003(68). These vehicles are common on most golf courses. The regulations of Florida's state about the usage of golf carts are very important for users, and should be taken into consideration for those persons who are considering purchasing their own golf carts.
There is Senate bill passed by Florida Senate on 1826, regarding the essential rules for the usage of golf carts. The first one is that it should be provided with a reliable steering wheel in it.
The use of this steering wheel is to make the full control of the vehicle.
There should be safe tires and efficient breaks that will help in ensuring the full control and the safe operation of the cart. It should be provided with a rearview mirror that allows the driver to be aware of areas behind the cart. This will also enable better handling of the golf cart.
There should be a red colored reflector that should be fitted in the front and rear side of the cart. This will make the cards clearly visible for the motorists and the pedestrians.
There is another bill named Florida's Senate 2005 (send Bill 1820), which prohibits the use of golf carts in public roads, streets in the Florida State. There is another rule that says a car should not be operated by a person under the age of 14.
There are some exceptions like a cart can be used on a public road under certain conditions like in a specially designed street or road.
These carts can also be used on the only available for the local government units; these roads should be properly marked with appropriate signs. These carts can be used for specific fields such as private retirement communities.
Even though, local laws and relations should be followed. The operation of golf vehicles is limited from sunrise to sunset. It should be also provided with windshield, brake lights, headlights and turn signals.

Why are Golf Balls Dimpled?
The dimples, paradoxically, do increase drag slightly. But they also
increase "Magnus lift", that peculiar lifting force experienced by rotating bodies
travelling through a medium. Magnus lift is present because a driven golf ball has
backspin. The same Magnus effect can cause a ball to hook or slice if it has
sideways spin.
Contrary to simple ideas of trajectories in a vacuum, golf balls do not travel in inverted parabolas. They follow an "impetus trajectory":
A difficulty comes near the transition region between laminar flow and turbulent flow. At low speeds, the flow around the ball is laminar. As speed is increased, the bottom part tends to go turbulent first. But turbulent flow can follow a surface much more easily than laminar flow.
As a result, the laminar flow lines around the top break away from the surface sooner than otherwise, and there is a net upward displacement of the flow lines. The Magnus lift becomes negative.
The dimples aid the rapid formation of a turbulent boundary layer around the golf ball in flight, giving more lift. Without them the ball would travel in more of a parabolic trajectory, hitting the ground sooner (and not coming straight down). This was discovered by accident in the early days of golf when golfers noticed that old roughened golf balls went farther.
Despite the drag, a dimpled golf ball can even go farther in air than it would in vacuum given the same initial velocity and low angle. However, a golf ball shot at 45° and 70 m/s in vacuum would go 500 metres to the first bounce, which exceeds all records.
Briggs Lyman J., "Effect of Spin and Speed on the Lateral Deflection of a Baseball; and the Magnus Effect for Smooth Spheres", Am. J. Phys. 27, 589 (1959). Briggs was trying to explain the mechanism behind the "curve ball" in baseball, using specialized apparatus in a wind tunnel at the NBS. He stumbled on the reverse effect by accident, because his model "baseball" had no stitches on it. The stitches on a baseball create turbulence in flight in much the same way that the dimples on a golf ball do.

Contrary to simple ideas of trajectories in a vacuum, golf balls do not travel in inverted parabolas. They follow an "impetus trajectory":
* * * * (golfer) * * * * <-- trajectory \O/ * * | * * -/ \-T---------------------------------------------------------------groundThis is because of the combination of drag (which reduces horizontal speed late in the trajectory) and Magnus lift (which supports the ball during the initial part of the trajectory, making it relatively straight). The trajectory can even curve upwards at first, depending on conditions! Here we see a golf ball in flight, with some relevant vectors:
F(Magnus) ^ | F(drag) <--- O -------> V \ \----> (sense of rotation)A golf ball leaves the tee with a speed of about 70 m/s and a backspin of at least 50 rev/s. The Magnus force can be thought of as due to the relative drag on the air on the top and bottom portions of the golf ball: the top portion is moving slower relative to the air around it, so there is less drag on the air that goes over the ball. The boundary layer is relatively thin, and air in the not-too-near region moves rapidly relative to the ball. The bottom portion moves fast relative to the air around it; there is more drag on the air passing by the bottom, and the boundary (turbulent) layer is relatively thick; air in the not-too-near region moves more slowly relative to the ball. The Bernoulli force produces lift. (Alternatively, one could say that "the flow lines past the ball are displaced down, so the ball is pushed up.")

Golf Etiquette
Golf is a dignified game of rules and manners, and
it’s important to know the basics before you play for
the first time.
Whether you are playing alone, in a twosome or a
foursome, you must wait your turn. You must keep aware
of the group on the next hole and wait until they are
well ahead of you before hitting your ball.
It’s never cool to "push" the group in front of you.
If you are playing with others, wait for your turn to
hit the ball; never hit at the same time as another
player.
While you wait for your turn, go to your ball and
determine what club you’ll need and how you are going
to hit it. This is called "ready golf" and keeps the
game moving. Don’t rush, just be ready.
If your team is holding up the players behind you, let
them play through. You would simply wave them through,
or if they are close enough, ask them if they’d like
to play through. You will never make an enemy in doing
this!
When someone is making a shot, you should be behind
them and you shouldn’t make a sound! It is so
distracting to be ready to tee off and just as you
pull back, someone decides to jingle in coins in their
pocket or noisily unwrap a piece of candy.
Replace your divots. When, in the fairway, you hit the
ball and a clod of dirt and grass goes flying, replace
it. On some courses you just put the clod back and
step on it to press it on; on most courses, there is a
sand/seed mixture on your card to put into the divot.
If your ball makes a deep impression when it lands on
the green, use your divot tool to repair it.
As soon as you have completed a hole, replace the flag
and leave the green so that the next players can play.
Count your score and write it on the scorecard when
you’re back at your cart.
Of course, there are many more rules of golf, but
these simple ones will enable you to get through the
course without coming to blows with anyone. We must
all keep the game dignified, right?
it’s important to know the basics before you play for
the first time.
Whether you are playing alone, in a twosome or a
foursome, you must wait your turn. You must keep aware
of the group on the next hole and wait until they are
well ahead of you before hitting your ball.

Make A Playing Hobby A Paying One
Addiction to golf comes second only to that of booze, no wonder ‘golf widows’ were creatures who once received our deepest sympathies.
Now, of course, the term ‘golf poor’ is quickly becoming a universal truth as well. And that’s only because golf and its accessories can really empty out an addict’s wallet.
But the wise and the wiser can whisper a couple of secrets on how you can stop golf accessories from pinching your wallet. In fact, those in-the-know will inform you how this is one hobby that helps reap rich dividends for them.
First, every loves freebies especially if you happen to dish out your golf tips for free. You might be loved, but you’ll remain poor.
Instead, if you play your cards right you can advice golfers alright. However, when the time is right, ask them to allow you borrow some expensive accessories.
You will soon realize that no one will deny a golf guru their just dues. In the process, you can use (not own or possess) high-end golf accessories for free. Take this a step further and offer to give informal tuitions for a small fee.
Think of other ways in which you can allow your golf accessories to earn a small income for you. Can you rent them to other golf instructors so they can be used for training rookies
Not only will this bring in some pocket money, you can actually use the additional money to buy your own set of fancy golf accessories.

How Golf Accessories Can Improve Your Game?
Other than hiring expensive tutors, golf pros use many other tricks in order to improve their game. Rigorous and regular practice is, of course, an obvious tactic.
However, most pros will also exploit their golf accessories in many which ways. If you do the same, it will help improve your game and reduce your handicap as well.
Many pros will attach golf weights to the ends of their clubs. Then they practice their slow swings with the additional weights. This offers 3 distinct benefits –
One, they can quickly develop the correct set of muscles due to the additional resistance.
Second, the extra weights add some zing to their regular training and helps in boosting motivation levels. This in turn, allows the pros to come to the greens and practice regularly, without fail.
And third, it allows them to use the lighter clubs with greater power and accuracy so that their long shots cover a respectable distance with unerring precision.
Pros will also invest a bit of money in another critical accessory – a putting green. This allows them to practice everyday, often, twice a day.
They also prefer using the same putter and same balls that they might use on the golfing green for better control. Pros also watch other pros putting and swinging.
So feel free to rent, buy, download, or borrow instructional DVDs or VHSs. If you watch other pros then it might help you develop better swings which might help shave a few critical points off your total score.

9 Basic Golf Rules For Beginners
Elementary rules of golf are not that hard to master, but they
may seem out of reach if the game is completely new to you. Unlike other
sports, golf does have some unsaid rules that, with their absence may
not disqualify you, but practicing them makes you at ease on the course
and with other players as well.
The most basic rules concern themselves with behavior and conduct, and also with taking care of the course. This article will help any player feel more comfortable on the course, be it a player who needs to remind himself of these basic rules, or may be a player completely new to the game as well.
1. One round of the game consists of 18 holes that you need to finish within four hours
2. You are permitted to carry up to fourteen golf clubs in your kit bag. Carrying more may result in penalty.
3. Basic golf manners require that you allow the person before you to make a hit.
You need to keep this in mind throughout the game all over the course. The player who is allowed to make the first hit is he who scored lowest on the previous hole.
4. Safety is always important. Before making your swing, make sure no one is standing right beside you, or in the area you are aiming at.
A golf ball is very hard and could cause serious injury.
If you are a beginner to the game you need to be aware that you need to stay brisk and attentive on the course.
You need to do your best to avoid slow play, which is a violation of the rules. Try these tips -
5. Before you begin the round, make sure you have all the required equipment in your golf bag. You will not have time to return for another club during play.
6. Do not try and practice on the course itself. The practice area is meant for this, or you could practice elsewhere.
7. Do not waste more than a few minutes looking for a mishit ball, its just not worth the time.
8. Do keep track of the pace of the golf players before and after you. If the group behind you is much faster than you, you could save them some frustration by letting them get ahead.
9. After you have done your putting, move out of the green immediately. This is not the area where you should hang around and look up the scores.
Following some of these basic rules and etiquette will not only improve your game, but will avoid frustrations. After all, you do need to feel welcome on a golf course, and not a pain in the wrong place.

Golf For Beginners - Learn How to Play Golf
Golf for beginners can be tedious and time consuming.
Even the most avid golfer can look back to the days when they were trying to learn the ins and outs of the game of golf, and wondering how hard it could be to hit a ball in a hole.
These golfers learned that it is, indeed, more difficult than it looks to get that ball in to the hole, but learning a few golf techniques can make it an enjoyable hobby and sport.
Perhaps the best tip that is given to the beginning golfer is to find an instructor that will show you the ropes. In case you have a local country club, try asking there first about any specials or promotions that they may have going on for beginning golfers.
If there is not a golf for beginners class in your budget or one that will fit in to your schedule, you can still learn the basics of golf through books and videos. When you have a basic grasp on the ideas, grab a set of clubs, and go practice.
The elderly adage "practice makes perfect" is never more true than it is with the game of golf. Reading a book or two and then practicing the techniques by yourself will enable you to play along with your colleagues or friends and have a foundation to build on.
One of the first things you will have to learn in golf for beginners is how to grasp your club. There are multiple variations on how to grip a golf club, and it is a subject of much debate which one provides the most exact shot.
There is an interlocking grip that is sported by Tiger Woods, the Vardon grip, and the Baseball group which is the grip of choice for junior players or those with smaller hands. Trying all the variations ought to give you some idea of what will work for you.
Golf for beginners instruction ought to address the mechanics of your swing and follow through, as well. These skills will improve and grow overtime, but having a firm basis is paramount.
The pressure you have on your club needs to be analyzed over and over again in order to find one that is comfortable and will still stand behind the power that is necessary to project the ball the distance that it needs to go. After these skills are achieved, building a stellar game is only a matter of time.

3-Step Guide to Better Golf for Beginners
Golf is tough on many beginners because they feel like they have
already missed the learning curve, gotten started too late or just won't
be able to learn how to find their way around a golf course. Whether
you have always secretly wanted to learn or have plans to attend a
business-related event over 9 or 18-holes, you can learn how to improve
your golf in just three easy steps.
If you're willing to put in a little bit of time and effort, this three-step guide to better golf for beginners will put you on the right track.
Learn golf protocol and etiquette- There's nothing worse than finding yourself on the course when you don't know proper golf protocol and etiquette. You might feel embarrassed, lacking in confidence or unsure of yourself. Or maybe you have confidence but you don't realize you are doing something wrong and making a fool of yourself in front of everyone.
Take some time to study up on golf protocol and etiquette first. Where do you stand on the tee box? Who tees off first? When can you pick up your ball? How do you mark your ball on the green? Learning the basics will give you the confidence you need out there.
Learn how to hit the ball- The next step is to learn to hit the ball correctly.
You don't have to hit it hard and you don't have to hit it far but you need to know how to make a solid connection with the ball. This is often easier said than done to the new golfer.
If you're getting professional lessons or help from a friend, focus on how to hit the ball first. As a new golfer, mastering this first will set the foundation for everything to come afterwards.
Learn drills and reading from home- Not everything you do to prepare for the course has to be done on the course. In fact, quite the opposite is true. You can spend a good amount of time at home running drills in your backyard, practicing putting in your living room, watching videos and pros on TV and reading up all you can about golf. You can call this your own crash course in mastering the course and you are limited only by how much time you have to give yourself.

The Simple Golf Swing Beginner's Guide
A simple golf swing
Understanding the fundamental principles of a simple golf swing is the first step in becoming the golfer you would like to be.
The golf swing is made up of key components that will take you to that next level of play.
The simple golf swing is achievable whether you are a beginner or intermediate player; the basis of golf will never change. While the basis of golf will never change, it is important to remember that your body structure and mentality of the game is different then others.
This is what separates golfers! While the simple golf swing is always waiting for you, it will always be different from other golfers.
There will never be an exact swing in comparison to others. You may be able to mimic the golf swing of others but your body structure is different and your mentality is different.
Your immediate results for the simple golf swing are determined by your understanding of what your body is capable of doing.
Practice and sheer determination to be the golfer you always wanted to be will allow you to find that simple golf swing. Once you have found your swing, everything else will fall into place.
Here are a couple of quick tips to help you get started with your simple golf swing.
Fixing your slice - After you have addressed the ball, place the ball towards the heel area of the club-face. In return, you will create a more inside to outside type of swing path. Next, have you ever heard of a strong grip? Strong grip will help alleviate the slice by rotation of the hands over.
This will establish the V system with your hands. Once you have established the V system, ensure that both V's are pointing to your right shoulder.
This type of grip squares the club-face right before striking the ball. Finally, imagine looking at a clock. Do you see where 7:00 is located and where 1:00 is located? Start your swing on the 7:00 path and finish at 1:00. All that is left is for you to rotate your shoulders through the ball. You will find that you are no longer slicing the ball but yet you are drawing the ball.
Drive for show!
- Widen your stance and ensure that about 65% of your weight is on your right side.
- Ensure you catch the ball on your upswing. To make this easier, ensure ball placement is aligned with your front foot and then elevate your tee's position for proper loft.
- Make a thorough backswing and ensure that you follow through the ball. Don't hit at the ball, hit through the ball.
- Remain calm and loose. Ensure that your head remains steady with your eyes and body staying behind the ball without swaying prior to impact.
This is just the beginning. Positive attitude brings positive results! There definitely is a lot more to learn. Start learning today and enjoy.

Golf For Beginners
Golf For Beginners in 2012
Confidence
The first component you must possess is confidence. Positive thinking rather than negative thinking can bring your game to another level. Like attracts like, good positive energy attracts more positive energy. Feeling good when you approach the ball makes all the difference rather than omg I'm going to slice this shot or please don't land in the river.
Having the confidence to hit the ball straight down the fairway is half the battle, golf in my eyes is half mental strength and half technical knowhow. Having the tools to make you a technically good golfer will be useless if you are one to choke every time you address the ball, being mentally strong makes you a complete golfer ready for anything, so work on your confidence, it doesn't just help with golf.
Clubs
Choosing the right clubs is paramount, and the first thing you will need to decide is what size of clubs you need and in order to figure that out you will need to take a few measurements (you will need a partner to do this for you).
To take the measurement stand with your legs slightly apart with your arms relaxed at your side. You want your partner to measure from the point where your arm bone ends, the soft tissue part before your hand of your non-writing hand.
If in doubt bend your hand up the way until you see a crease appear in the wrist, this is the point your partner should measure from, measure from that point down to the floor. Have your partner do it a couple of times to make sure they get the right measurement.
Now get your partner to measure your height. Write these down and keep them safe.
Next you need to take your measurements to a pro shop where they have two charts to determine the correct length of golf clubs you should be using. These charts, one will recommend the length of each club you should have based on your height, the second chart will help you make adjustments to those clubs based on the measurement you wrote down.
Remember these charts are just recommendations, try them out first and make adjustments that suite you. Being comfortable is the main thing here, the last thing you want is to be using clubs that you feel are either too long or too short.
The next thing you should probably know is what makes of clubs to go for. Once again this is a personal decision as everyone has their own preference. Golf clubs can be very expensive to buy so you want to be careful to make the right choice.
Ask around any friends that you know golf to see if you can try out their clubs first, you may get lucky and find clubs that you get on well with first time. TaylorMade, Ping and Mizuno are among the leaders when it comes to making golf clubs.
Two things to point out are that you can get steel shafts or graphite shafts, graphite shafts are more expensive because they are lighter than steel shafts and the weight is in the club head meaning it is easier to generate swing speed. Perfect for beginners.
You can also think about buying the perimeter-weighted heads as they have an extended sweet spot making life a whole lot easier for beginner golfers.
A second hand set of golf clubs is another option, but whatever avenue you take in obtaining your first set of clubs, be sure to try them out at least on the driving range.
Bag
Things to remember when looking for a golf bag is that it has to be big enough to carry a maximum of 14 clubs yet light enough for you to carry around for 4 hours as some courses do not allow buggies to carry the clubs. Other than that it's all about the look and make, oh and don't forget the price.
Shoes
What you want out of a pair of golf shoes comes down to personal choice. Picking a pair of golf shoes is like picking any other pair of shoes, firsts things first, make sure they fit and are comfortable as you will be walking a lot of miles in these shoes.
The next thing you need to remember when choosing your shoes is that you will be walking in wet weather as well as those hot sunny days, even if it isn't raining at times, the ground can still be wet so choose carefully.
Price is the next thing you will need to decide, what budget do you have to spend on a pair of golf shoes? The prices range from £20 up to £150 or more. I had a pair of Adidas that cost me £25, they were trendy, comfy and lasted 5 years, the best £25 I ever spent.
As you may be aware golf shoes come with spikes, metal ones and rubber ones. Most golf courses now a day's only permit rubber spikes as it preserves the courses so make sure your shoes have rubber spikes.
All of the above are primary choices that have to be made, let's move on to the secondary choices that must be thought about like fashion.
Some prefer the traditional look, but there are a wide range of funky looking golf shoes.
You can even have them tailor made to suite your own personal needs, perhaps you have one leg slightly longer than the other that needs addressing.
Other than the points mentioned above, golf shoes are just like picking any other pair of shoes, it comes down to personal preference.
Balls
The type of golf balls you choose depends on price, make and colour. As beginners tend to lose more balls than your average player I would recommend buying used balls from a pro shop on any course. You can usually pick these up in sets of 10 for a fraction of the price and are usually available in many top brands such as Nike, Titlist, Callaway, Taylor Made, Ping.
Rules
I am not going to re-write the rules of golf here in this report for you, instead I have the link to the official rules which are maintained jointly by the USGA and the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. You can find them here.
Where To Practice
You can practice at any driving range, if you check Google I'm sure you can come up with a list of driving ranges near your home. Most driving ranges charge per 50 balls and vary in prices so check your local listings.
If money is an issue some golf courses have one hole practice ranges available to use or you can find a bit of grass that is reserved for practice near one of the fairways on the course.
Most also have putting greens you can use to practice your putting, or the living room carpet and a cup will do. Keep in mind that most if not all public parks prohibit playing golf.
Where To Play
There are two types of courses, public and private. Public courses are normally run by the council; whereas private courses are not and tend to be a bit pricier than public courses both for single rounds and memberships. The rules of etiquette tend to be different also, you can wear trainers and jeans on a public course, and on a private course you must wear proper golf shoes, dress trousers, and a collar on your shirt. Check the rules before you turn up for your round to save any red faces.
Regardless of the type of course you plan on playing at everyone must book a tee off time in advance and you should turn up at least 10 min before you are due to tee off.
Most golf courses are 18 holes in length but 9 hole pitch and putt courses also exist for juniors and for those not yet ready for the 18 hole challenge.
You should be able to Google local golf courses no problem, but I'd get some practice in first.
Grip
The first thing that you need to know is that your grip matters greatly. Most slices end up occurring because of how a person grips the golf club. The club has to be firm in hand, but not so tight that the energy of your hands and arms are moving through the ball. If your kinetic energy flows through the ball you'll see the slice happen and you can correct things from there.
The hands are important to the transfer of energy, and if you twitch or cuff in your follow through, you will not see forward progress. Some will deny that their hands are to blame, but when you go forward to a driving range, focus on the way you hit the ball and you'll notice that often times the slice has everything to do with the way you're moving your hands and following through.
Even a slight slip of your hands marginally left or right or in an uppercut fashion will change the trajectory of the movement of the ball.
The easiest way to fix this problem is to grip the club harder. Often times the slice is a response to a weaker grip, especially at the point of impact.
Depending on how you hold the club and how your grip shifts slightly, will determine the force and direction of the ball after impact. To fix this, grip and take control of club and do not shift your hands or wrists in any way.
This will seem a bit difficult at first, but after a few practice swings, you will be able to fix any tension that you might have in your arms as you bring your swing to full circle.
Stance
Having the correct footwear on is a must, golf shoes that fit well, not loose. On address for middle range iron shots your feet should line up roughly shoulder width apart, for longer iron shots the feet should line up a couple of inches wider than that and for shorter iron shots the feet a couple of inches narrower than shoulder width.
Start by standing tall, now bend your knees slightly and keep your back straight, tilt your upper body forward until your eyes are in line with the balls of your feet. Your weight should be balanced on the balls of your feet and your bum should look like you are sitting on a tall bar stool.
Your arms should be relaxed and outstretched so that your eyes, balls of your feet and now your hands all are aliened. This posture will feel quite odd at first, but stick with it and you'll soon get used to it.
Swing
After you've spent some time analyzing your swing, you most likely will notice that the slice relies heavily on how you are hitting the ball and lining up your shoulders, mainly the lead shoulder.
Your lead shoulder should be square to the ball upon impact. Your shoulder should be distinctly in line with your forearms, with the forearms stabilizing the swing upon impact. The leading shoulder should be down while the hands and the forearms send the energy needed to fly the ball forward without slicing.
Some of the most common errors that people have to deal with are in regards to their shoulders, arms, and the transfer of energy.
Energy moves through the motion of the swing and can change the way the ball moves. Changing the trajectory of the ball in motion is impossible, but if you hit the ball a certain way you can change the complexion of your swing.
The shoulders have to be square, with the lead shoulder steady and following through with a solid grip. If you grip the club properly and don't shift your hands upon impact, you will see a positive reaction with your ball.

The designs for Callaway golf club are truly revolutionary and innovative which is why the Callaway golf club is dubbed as the type of golf club that is unique and also high-performance kind golf equipment.
After that, Ely Callaway renamed his company into Callaway Golf and then relocated from Cathedral City, California to a sleepy seaside town called Carlsbad, which is just north of San Diego.
One of the most innovative designs that the firm came up with was to create a stainless steel driver that had a larger and more forgiving head than any previous design. The CEO, Callaway dubbed it as “Big Bertha” which was derived from a German cannon back in WWI which was famous for its capability of shooting long distance range.
This type of design was the one that made Callaway golf club a house hold name in the states because it experienced millions of sales and the Big Bertha type of Callaway golf club was the reason why Callaway became the number one manufacturer of golf clubs not only in the US but in the whole world which shows how popular golf is to the whole world.
At present, there are six classifications of the Callaway Golf club. The first classification is the drivers which are comprised of two models which are the Big Bertha Fusion FT4 and Big Bertha Titanium 454.
The next classification of Callaway golf club is called the Fairway Woods. Fairway Woods have three types of clubs which are Big Bertha Fusion Fairway Woods, Big Bertha Titanium Fairway Woods, and Big Bertha Fairway Woods.
The next classification of the Callaway golf club is a hybrid which is designed for long and distant shots. The model for this type of Callaway golf club is called Big Bertha Heavenwood Hybrids. The next classification is called irons which are divided into five types of models and these are Big Bertha, Big Bertha Fusion, X-Tour, X-18, and X-18 Pro. Another classification of the Callaway golf club would be the wedges and the model here is called Forged+ Wedges.
The last classification for Callaway golf club is called the Putters. The Putters have two models in its classification which are Callaway golf I-Trax Putter and tour Blue.
The classification and models of Callaway Gold Club mentioned above are the ones that the firm manufactures. All of these models were made in the lieu with science, research, and practice. All of these models are worth a try and who knows? You might be the next Tiger Woods in the world of golf.

GOLF EQUIPMENT: GEARING UP PROPERLY FOR GOLF
Like any other sports, golf requires that you are geared up correctly to be able to properly play the game. This article will give you an idea of basic golf equipment one requires to be able to learn and play golf.
For starters, the basic golf equipment is a golf ball. Golf balls are dimpled tiny balls, use in to play golf. They are dimpled to reach farther length when driven by golf clubs.
Another important golf equipment is a golf club or golf driver.
Golf drivers come in different varieties. This is because a golf course has different landscapes and different golf clubs are required to make the proper drive.
Depending on the landscape, either sand, grass or cement, a golf club is essential to make the perfect drive. Professional golfers usually have a bag or two of golf clubs to cater to their golf needs.
Most golf stores and sports equipment store sell golf clubs. Some golf clubs are sold in sets while other are sold individually.
To protect your golf equipment, such as your golf club, a golf bag golf club cover is essential. A golf bag will, of course, hold your golf club in one place and will make it easier for your caddy to bring your many golf clubs. Golf bags can also hold golf balls and other golf equipment like water bottle to quench your thirst while under the sun or extra shirt or your regular shoes. On the other hand, a golf club cover covers the edge of your golf club.
This is done so to protect your golf club from unwanted scratches and dents. Dents can cause your drive to go from ok to bad. Dents in golf clubs can affect the drive of your golf ball.
With these golf equipment, you can take care of the state of your club and your game.
One golf equipment that you need to invest on is a good pair of golf shoes. Golf shoes are different from usual rubber shoes or walking shoes. Golf shoes are created to walk on greens - the type where the sport is played.
Golf shoes usually have pointed rubber under the soles to grip the earth and sand under your feet. This way, unnecessary shaking or moving is avoided.
This is important because shaking can cause you to not hit the golf ball or to hit the golf ball in the wrong direction. If you plan to play professional golf a good pair of golf shoes is a necessary golf equipment to add up to your list.
Choose one that is sturdy yet comfortable enough for you to walk into. Golf is a sport that requires walking from one hole to another or to where your ball landed (you can not use golf carts on the greens) and thus, if your golf shoes are uncomfortable, you would have a hard time concentrating on your game.
A golf equipment usually provided by most golf courses (aside from the golf ball) is the tee. The tee is the tiny pin like thing that you punch to the ground to stand your ball into. The tee is use in teeing off (the start of your first drive) thus the name.
The most amazing golf equipment ever created (for me, that is) is the golf cart. Golf carts can take you from one hole to the other, though as I said earlier they are not allowed on the greens, they still lessen the burden of having to walk under the hot sun.
This golf equipment can be acquired from golf courses.
Golf players are usually made to use golf equipment such as this to give them a better and easier time playing the sport.
Many specialty shops and sport shops offer golf equipment.
The internet is also a good source of golf equipment.
Second hand golf equipment are even auctioned off the internet, if you are on a tight budget. Check out your local golf shop, sports shop, specialty shops, E-bay or Yahoo! for your golf equipment needs.
